Other yachts in your harbour are using a sprayhood.

Hans … Thanks for the feedback 
We haven’t got around to a sprayhood yet.  They’re not really necessary here on Lake Ontario.  Although the lake can kick up in a storm, it’s usually pretty flat so we don’t get water in the cockpit.  A lot of the boats here have a bimini to keep the sun off, but it really does change the appearance of the boat.  
I like the Euro style sprayhoods that are cut a little lower than the ones over here.  The ones here seem too high and big to me and take away the lines of the boat.

In Holland you can ask your sprayhood-maker how you want to have your sprayhood. I always want to have a low and long sprayhood with grips at the sides and in the cockpit for if you walk in gangway along the sprayhood etc. Most of the times the makers have a lot of examples. So look around if you want to have a nice sprayhood in harbours and ask the owner who made the sprayhood. You can always bring or sail your Dufour 34 P. over to Holland and we know a lot of good sprayhoodmakers.

Alan,
We had a discussion about sprayhoods earlier this year. If you do a search (zoeken) on this website on " buiskap" you wil find a lot a pictures of sprayhoods, dodgers, buiskappen. Leo sent in a picture of the Borrias sprayhood on may 29th.
